WELCOME TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR 2026-2027!

August 7, 2026

Dear Parents:

I’m thrilled to welcome our families and students to the 2026–27 school year at Glen View Elementary! Our dedicated team looks forward to collaborating closely with you to support your child’s growth and success. Together, we are devoted to fostering an inspiring, engaging, and supportive environment where every student can thrive.

First Day of School: Tuesday, August 18th

Safety is our number one priority. Please use designated crosswalks and if using a handicap parking space, please display your handicap placard. For the first week of school, parents ARE allowed to walk students to their designated class line on the blacktop (1st-5th grade). For safety reasons, TK and Kinder parents will walk their child to their classroom all year long. Starting Monday, August 24th, we will be adhering to the following arrival and dismissal guidelines:

Arrival: All students will enter campus through gate C. TK and Kinder must be walked by their guardian to their classroom door/line. All other students will enter campus without a guardian. Students who are being dropped off by vehicle will use the far gate, gate D. Please pull forward during drop off to help alleviate traffic. Upon arrival, all 1st-5th students will go directly to the blacktop and line up according to their classroom number.

Dismissal: TK and Kinder students must be picked up by a guardian directly from their classrooms; 1st grade students will be picked up by guardians at the red line directly behind the front office. Grades 2nd-3rd will exit through the main gate, and 4th & 5th grade students will exit through gate D. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended along the red fire lane and adhere to the “Bus Only” area.

Food: Breakfast will be available in the mornings from 7:35-7:55 am for K-5th grade students. TK students will be served breakfast after the start of school. Please plan accordingly if you would like your child to receive breakfast. School breakfast and lunch will be provided free of cost and no application will be necessary. Due to food allergies, please do not send food items to celebrate a birthday.

Medical Appointments: I want to encourage all parents to make medical appointments for after school hours to help assist your child in receiving a full and consistent day of academic instruction. Please follow our school calendar (attached) to make plans for these appointments and vacations.

We highly discourage parents from taking his/her child out early. Every instructional minute counts!

Sincerely,

Julio Lopez
Glen View Principal
